The Bracero Program exhibit

By Emily Smith

In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, “Bittersweet Harvest: The Bracero Program 1942-196” poster display is available for viewing in the Stephen J. Betze Library through Oct. 16. This poster display was provided by the Smithsonian showcasing historical context for the largest guest worker program in US history. The posters show what it was like for the Mexican workers involved in the program. It also talks about the impact the Bracero Program left on the American immigration and labor policy, and the thriving Mexican American communities in the US today.
