MILLVILLE — On Nov. 23, the Millville Boardwalk held an event where 75+ local businesses put up trees for the festival of trees event.
For the past month, Millville Boardwalk has been looking for sponsors for the festival of trees which the proceeds go to local families in need. This is the third year that this event has taken place. This event costs each sponsor a $250 donation. In total, this event made over $18,750 that was able to be donated to local families.
Event organiser and Vice President of the company, Roger Martin, said that this year has had the greatest turnout when it comes to the number of sponsors. This year's event has the most trees we've ever seen. We also have the golf course set up with Christmas lights and decorations for our customers to come check out at nighttime.
Joelle Wise, Agape Creamery manager, said that all the time we spent decorating the trees was worth the wait because of how beautiful the property looks at night. It also makes you feel good that you know that there are 75+ local businesses that are here to support the community.
The Festival of Trees runs from November 24 until January 2. It is free to attend and open to the public. There are also other attractions to check out at the Millville Boardwalk, such as Agape Areamery, Lighthouse Golf, and Captains Quarters Arcade.
