GEORGETOWN — Students of Delaware Technical Community College’s Performing Arts Club came together to set up and run a bake sale fundraiser Oct. 31 for their club’s progression.

Co. Advisor Michael Mckain and helpers went into the college’s entry way in the Jason Technology wing around 8:30 a.m. to begin setting up. The event was intended to create awareness of the club’s purpose and activities, with all funds raised to go to support the club’s future projects.

The President of the Performing Arts Club Grace Challmen, dressed in a halloween inspired costume, said “We have brownies, pumpkin pound cake, vegan, and gluten free, and all goes to support the club’s productions."

Students were able to pass by the table to talk and browse around with fellow students to receive any information about the club.

“We’re in a steady location and hope to use the money for different popular productions, props, and costumes…The food came from different members and teachers, and I personally taste tested everything my wife made,” Mckain stated.

The club’s table was up until 4:30 to sell out, with different members of the club coming out to take shifts on managing the table transactions.

Club member Andrew Ellison said, “Just trying to do my part to raise some money. I definitely plan on eating some and we already recruited another member to the club.”
