LEWES — HealTree, a mental health organization recognizable for its unique approach to mental wellness, blends Eastern philosophy with Western therapeutic practices.
Founded by Catrina Stiller in 2020, with the belief that nature is the best medicine for the soul, HealTree integrates nature-based therapies and mindfulness practices into its services, encouraging clients to engage with the natural world as a key element of their healing process.
“HealTree’s mission is to guide individuals in their journey of healing, to bring more peace, love, and kindness into the world,” said Sydney Dawson, office manager and event coordinator at HealTree.
At the core of HealTree’s services is a team of highly trained professionals, including licensed clinical social workers and licensed professional mental health counselors, who bring extensive experience and educational expertise to their roles.
HealTree is committed to addressing the varied needs of its clients by offering a wide range of services from psychotherapy and animal-assisted therapy to body-mind practices and energy healing.
The organization also hosts workshops and events that promote community engagement and provide additional support to those on their healing journeys.
The focus on a holistic healing philosophy helps clients navigate both their therapeutic work and daily lives with greater ease and balance.
As demand for its services increases, HealTree is actively expanding its facilities. The organization is currently moving to a larger suite to accommodate a growing client base and is exploring new opportunities to enhance its offerings.
Despite its success, HealTree faces ongoing challenges, including the high rates of mental illness in the community and the complex nature of insurance coverage. These issues, compounded by limited resources, have led to waitlists for new clients.
“The prevalence of mental health challenges is always going to be present for us,” said Dawson. “It can feel difficult to be able to serve everybody who needs it.”
HealTree has set clear goals for continued growth. In the short term, the organization plans to further develop its infrastructure to support its expanding services. Long-term objectives include increasing the number of workshops offered and continuing to build a comprehensive healing framework that encompasses both traditional and alternative therapies.
HealTree ensures a positive workplace culture by fostering an environment that prioritizes well-being. In contrast to the high-pressure “hustle culture” common in many industries.
“How we operate really does push directly against this general sense of urgency that our society can have,” said Dawson. “...because of that the energy here can stay a lot less stressful and we can find peace within these walls.”
HealTree emphasizes mindfulness, slow-paced practices, and alignment with natural rhythms. This approach has led to lower stress levels for employees, promoting a healthier work environment that sustains productivity without the burnout often seen in more conventional professional settings.
As HealTree continues to expand its holistic offerings and community presence, the organization remains dedicated to its mission: to provide a safe space where individuals can truly feel and heal. With its commitment to healing through both professional care and natural practices, HealTree is paving the way for a new model of mental health treatment.
