Students received a taste of travel at Delaware Technical Community College’s Terry Campus on Sept. 18.
Global Understanding held Snacks Around the World for students to come get a taste of the countries associated with the Delaware Tech Study Abroad program and enjoy snacks from different countries.
Erin Schutt, Student Life program manager, said the event was for students to learn about the opportunities that Delaware Tech offers across the state line.
“The goal of this is to get students aware of Delaware Tech’s Study Abroad program,” said Schutt.
Ethan Minshall, a student at Delaware Tech, said it is a great opportunity for students who like to travel.
“It would definitely be a once-in-a-lifetime experience, something I would for sure love to do,” he said.
The Global Understanding group hosts numerous events throughout the year, such as Talavera Tile Making, a Study Abroad Fair, and an International Education Week Photo Contest and Reception.
The Study Abroad program has seven different locations students can visit this school year, including the Dominican Republic, Italy, Brussels, Amsterdam, Vienna, Prague, and Vietnam.
Nathaniel Donigan, a culinary student at Delaware Tech, said, “I think studying abroad would be a great opportunity, especially being in the culinary field.”
Donigan said he would be torn between studying abroad in Italy or Vietnam.
“I have close family friends who are Vietnamese and would like to see more into their cooking,” he said. “Italy is a must for most culinary students though because it has such an impact on the field.”
