Entrepreneur Business Club
What exactly is business? Business is defined as the practice of making one’s living by engaging in commerce. It falls under two main categories, goods and services. There is recorded history of business as early as 3,000 years ago.
In India during the 8th Century BC, the first firms emerged that could enter into contracts or own property. By 960 AD, China developed gun powder, the printing press, paper money and the first joint partnerships and joint stock companies which resemble and most likely spawned our own modern capital structure and system.
Many have business aspirations, but don’t necessarily have the resources and/or knowledge to start, let alone be successful…hence the need for organizations such as the Entrepreneur Business Club at Delaware Technical Community College, Owens Campus.
The club was established approximately six years ago and is advised by Keena Ross. Members meet on Wednesdays from noon to 1 p.m. in Room 997 at the Delaware Tech, Owens Campus. Its purpose is to enlighten students on business fundamentals among other things. The group also is heavily involved in trips and various functions to ensure business familiarity as well as networking opportunities.
