The bi-annual Roady Fest was held at the Jack F. Owens Campus on March 10, during the Halfway There Week in the Student Center’s dining hall and fireside lounge.

School clubs and organizations participated in the event by creating their own activities including Student Government Association's sumo wrestling tournament or Gay Straight Alliance Club’s temporary tattoo station.

Occupational Therapy Assistant Club member Jenn Rowan said she decided to participate so she could educate the students at the event what occupational therapy was and that it’s present on campus.

“I just hope that people can grasp a better understanding of occupational therapy,” Rowan said.

FFA was also a contributor in the event, holding an inflatable horse race. Officer Morgan Herd said her club got involved to promote FFA and to hopefully recruit potential members.

“Anything the school has that we can do to promote our club, we want to do it,” Hurd said.

In regards to all the clubs participating, Hurd said she was happy to see all the active clubs.

“Everybody respects everyone’s club, it’s not a competition,” Hurd said. “It’s just nice to see all the students participating.”

Temporary tattoos were a big success, as the Gay Straight Alliance club’s table was swarming with students ready to get tatted up. Tyler Whaley, Gay Straight Alliance club officer, said the clubs involvement was a great way to get the word out about GSA.

Whaley said “We just hope to get the word out that there is a GSA for those that need it.”
