Photography Students to Hold Exhibit in Jason Building

The very best work from the fall semester’s Introduction to Photography course will be on display in the Jason Building’s Science Wing. The students are holding an exhibit on December 8.

Communications student Shane Smith said, “We’ve been working hard all semester, it will be cool to see what people think.”

Students, faculty, and visitors are encouraged to vote for their favorite photographs and browse the students’ portfolios.

Instructor Keith Mosher said the student portfolios are a popular part of the exhibit, and viewers enjoy looking at what the students have done during the semester.

The exhibit set-up also gives the students the opportunity to see their work in a tangible form, Mosher said.

Each student worked with Mosher to select their 20 best photographs, and the top 3 are matted and framed.

“It’s a whole different presentation, being framed and matted and hanging on a wall versus just seeing it on a screen. It takes it to another level,’’ Mosher said .

There will be a variety of photos, Mosher said, including still-life, portraits, and night scenes.

Attendees will vote on their favorite photos and a Best in Show trophy will be awarded to the winners in both general votes and faculty votes, Mosher said.

The event will start at 3:30 p.m. and end at 5 p.m.
