As Easter approached, the Alpha Beta Gamma (AGB) club at Delaware Technical Community College Owens Campus, had an Easter basket fundraiser to raise school scholarship funds.

 

Joseph Curtis and Chris Houlday took first and second place in the drawings. 

 

The fundraiser included a raffle of three Easter baskets filled with candy, stuffed animals, bunnies, chocolate, Easter decorations, and a Boardwalk Plaza gift card. 

 

Rex Foxwell won last place in the drawing. 

 

Leslie Mergner, department chair, held up the basket while Jennifer Lefebvre picked the three winning tickets. 

 

Two of the baskets were made by the AGB members Jennifer Lefebvre and Elissa Troise-Greco.

 

“I went to Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory to get the items for my basket,” Lefebvre said. “Someone is lucky!”

 

The AGB club is an honor society that is invitation only and requires a certain GPA. 

 

Glenn Merritt is the club advisor and the students are in charge of running the club.

 

Tickets for the raffle were $1 or $2 for three tickets. The tickets were mixed in one giant basket and pulled on March 26.  

 

The money raised from the raffle tickets goes towards the school scholarship funds. The scholarship was handed out by an administrator at the Induction Ceremony on April 17, 2013.

 

The scholarship is around $1,000-$1,500 every year.
