The Jack F. Owens Campus Performing Arts Club (PAC) is dedicated to showcasing the talents of students involved in the arts. Its spring production of “A Date with Dracula” is just around the corner.

Director Cory Dunt describes the play as a “light hearted comedy.” The plot behind the play is Dracula looking for some “fresh blood,” after dating all the girls in town, and registers for Dateze, a dating website, Dunt said. The plot thickens when Dr. Frankenstein’s monster signs up for the same site and hilarity ensues.

One of the principal roles in the production is Florence, portrayed by Colleen Carney, communications student. A typical day of rehearsals includes running lines, rehearsing scenes, and blocking, Carney said.

Michael Hoffa, who plays Dracula, said the audience can expect “a show with non-stop laughter.”

Host of Dateze actor Tyler Meding, an elementary education student, claims he is looking forward to the ending segment the most.

“It’s cool having the final note or final say,” Meding said. “It sets the tone on how the audience should feel if they have a final laugh or final say.”

The production will be held in the Arts and Science Theater Friday, April 10 at 7 p.m., Saturday, April 11 at 7 p.m., and Sunday April 12 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $5 and are available at the door or can be purchased in advanced at Java 101, located in the Student Services Center.
